This little black molly goldfish found himself in quite a predicament. He had ingested a large rock from his aquarium and was unable to spit it out, and it was definitely not going anywhere. He spent over a day sitting in the bottom of his tank and his very worried owner called us to see what we could do. Luckily, we were able to get him right in and get to work.
We administered anesthesia in his water and once he was sedated our doctor was able to gently but firmly grasp the stone and manipulate it out of his mouth. After removal, the anesthesia was flushed from his gills and he was returned to a clean batch of his prepared water for his trip home.
