Elora Pierce

Dr. Pierce earned her DVM from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She also completed the Aquatic Animal Health Certification at MSU CVM. Originally from Bay Saint Louis, MS, Dr. Pierce earned her bachelor’s in marine biology from the University of Southern Mississippi and has always been passionate about conservation. Her experiences include externships at Mississippi Aquarium working with aquatic and avian species, and private practice with exotic animals of all kinds. Dr. Pierce has taken part in Kemp’s Ridley sea turtle rehabilitation for several cold stunning seasons since college. She also has experience volunteering in marine mammal rehabilitation specifically with bottlenose dolphins. Dr. Pierce has published research on cryptosporidium in rabbits and changing migratory habits of manatees in the gulf. Most recently she has been part of a project with MSU studying microbiomes in bottlenose dolphins. In her free time, she loves to be at the beach, fishing, reading, or at home with her two cats. One of her favorite animals is a guinea pig. She is excited to begin her career at Exotic Vet Care and meet all of the feathered, scaled, and furred animals we serve.
